The Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada is pleased to announce that the Refugee Appeal Division (RAD) Handbook is now available.
The handbook discusses key legal concepts and procedural matters that arise in proceedings before the
RAD, including:
- the standard of review to be applied by the
RAD when reviewing Refugee Protection Division decisions
- the power of the
RAD to admit new evidence, examine new issues, and hold oral hearings
- the different procedures and remedies applicable by the
RAD
The
RAD Handbook will be a valuable resource for
RAD decision-makers as well as counsel, consultants, unpaid representatives, and parties that appear before the
RAD.
