Basis of Claim Form (BOC)

The purpose of the BOC Form (PDF, 482 KB) is to present your refugee protection claim to the Refugee Protection Division (RPD). In the BOC Form, you will give details about yourself (your identity, family, documents and travel history) and about why you are claiming refugee protection in Canada. This form only applies to refugee claims made after December 14, 2012.

Application for an Extension of Time to File or Perfect an Appeal 
(Refugee Appeal Division)

If you are unable to file your notice of appeal and your appellant's record on time, you have to make an application to the RAD for an Extension of Time to File or Perfect an Appeal (PDF, 418 KB). In this application, you must give the reasons why you are late in filing your appeal documents.

Notice of Representation Without a Fee or other consideration

The Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (IRB) requires that the Notice of Representation Without a Fee or other consideration (PDF, 286 KB) form be provided to confirm that your counsel is authorized to represent you before the IRB. If your counsel is charging you a fee, he or she must be an "authorized representative" under the Regulations. | Notice

Counsel Contact Information Form

Since June 28, 2011, counsel who, for a fee or other retribution, represent, advise or consult with a person who is the subject of a proceeding must provide the IRB with the name of the organization of which he or she is a member in good standing, and with his or her membership identification number. Counsel can fill out the Counsel Contact Information (PDF, 275 KB) form, print it and return it to the IRB.

Notification of Client Contact Information

A subject of a proceeding must immediately notify the IRB and the Minister in writing and without delay, by completing a Notification of Client Contact Information (PDF, 273 KB) form, of any changes to the contact information for your and/or your counsel.

Notice of Appeal Forms
(Immigration Appeal Division)

The Notice of Appeal Forms are required to appeal removal orders, sponsorship refusals and decisions on permanent residency obligations.

List of Claimant's Documents

The List of Claimant's Documents was designed to assist claimants or their counsel to meet the requirements of the Refugee Protection Rules with respect to the submission of documents.

List of Minister's Documents

The List of Minister's Documents was designed to assist the Minister's representatives to meet the requirements of the Refugee Protection Rules with respect to the submission of documents.

Governor in Council Appointment Application Form

The Governor in Council Appointment Application Form (PDF, 508 KB) is required to apply for a position of GIC Member at the IRB.

Interpreter Information Sheet

The Interpreter Information Sheet is required to apply for a position of interpreter at the IRB.

Personal Information Form (PIF)

For claimants who are already in Canada and whose claim for refugee protection has been referred by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC), the Personal Information Form is required to present a claim for refugee protection to the IRB's Refugee Protection Division. This form only applies to refugee claims made prior to December 15, 2012.
